Hotel Marktzicht

The staff were friendly, and the location was great. But the room was cramped, dated, noisy, and falling apart. For that price, I expected more.

Ask for a room facing the park, since the front rooms overlook a noisy square. The doors need better soundproofing, and electronic locks would bring the place up to date. My room’s Wi-Fi was unreliable, and there were no outlets by the bedside. The bathroom got completely wet after a shower, with nowhere to put toiletries. Housekeeping would just walk in without knocking. Breakfast is continental, but they ask what time you want it the next day and seem to expect the same time again the day after.

The staff were really kind and polite, and I enjoyed staying here. My only reason for giving four stars instead of five was the heat. I was on the top floor, and even with the fan I had trouble sleeping at night. Some people say the rooms are small, but the ones I stayed in felt big enough to me. You’re not there to dance or work out, are you? :D

Right in the heart of Harderwijk, hotel Marktzicht is lovely and feels fresh. The staff were friendly, though I didn’t really need their help. I liked the idea of leaving towels on the floor if you want them changed and hanging up the clean ones you want to keep. The one thing I missed was a shower curtain.
