Houthavens Serviced Apartments

I was surprised to see some negative reviews because I had a wonderful stay. I missed the 3pm check in, but the hosts met me at the apartment at 5pm, showed me around, and handed over the keys. The host communicated brilliantly before, during, and after my stay, replying very quickly even on weekends. I had no problems while I was there. I'm quite picky about cleanliness, and the apartment was absolutely spotless, even after all my dust checks. It was spacious, nicely decorated, and had decent quality furniture. The large bed was comfortable, and the modern bathroom was well lit. I didn't need to adjust the central heating, but it could be controlled from inside the apartment. The kitchen had a coffee maker, kettle, hob, oven, fridge, and microwave, but no toaster or freezer. There was also a good hairdryer and an iron and ironing board. The TV was a little small but adequate, and it was a smart TV, so I could watch Netflix on my own account. Wifi was good. The neighborhood felt safe, with a decent supermarket about a 5 minute walk away. It was easy to reach the centre by bus or on foot. I'd definitely recommend this place and stay again.

We were disappointed with our stay. We rented two separate apartments, and both were set to 19 C. They only warmed up after 5 hours, reaching at most 22 degrees, so we were cold. The windows and doors were dirty and poorly maintained. The two men staying next door would usually smoke marijuana in the corridors. There was no one to talk to, and no one answered the phone in the evenings. Not worth this money.

The apartment itself was spacious, modern, and clean, but the heating either didn't work or worked very poorly, and it was very cold. One of the TV remote controls didn't work, which was inconvenient. Communication with the owner was very difficult, and they still haven't replied to my emails. I told them my arrival time a week in advance, but nobody said that if I arrived after 6pm I'd have to collect the keys 15 minutes away by car. They hadn't sent that information even on the day I arrived. I had paid for a parking place, but the owner wouldn't leave me the keys to park inside, saying we arrived too late at 6:30pm.

Our flight was delayed, so we checked in at 1am and found the apartment crawling with bugs, most of them on the bed. We'd booked four nights, but after a sleepless night, we left the next morning because there were so many insects. Their policy means we won't be reimbursed. They said they hadn't known about the bugs and offered for us to stay, since technically we were supposed to remain until Tuesday. We spent the night with cotton wool in our ears, afraid the bugs might crawl in if we fell asleep. Really?! The previous review should have made them aware of this issue. The booking photos clearly no longer showed the apartment's condition.
