Kiki's Apartments Amsterdam

The bedding itself was good, and we found the beds comfortable, but the pillows and duvet were worn and uncomfortable. Reading the guest book also made us uneasy: it suggested the apartment had repeatedly been used for drunken parties, with more than one guest joking about someone being so drunk they urinated in the bed. We'd expected better for an expensive rental. The place felt like a worn-out old youth hostel rather than a quality apartment, and we were very disappointed. It badly needs new beds. The sofa was grubby and looked heavily used, the blinds were in tatters and urgently needed replacing, and the rooftop furniture was sparse and filthy. The parasol was broken and long past use. The floor felt gritty underfoot. On arrival, it was obvious the apartment was overdue for a spring clean. We used the dishwasher, but it stank because the internal waste trap hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. I spent a couple of hours trying to make the place more civilised.
