Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Rembrandtpark

The neighborhood felt very safe, and the staff were really nice. Our room was clean and comfortable. It’s fairly close to the bus stations, though the Centre is a bit farther away. I’d recommend staying here.

There’s a lovely small park behind the hotel with goats, sheep, and two donkeys, plus pretty scenery and walking routes. We had a great weekend here, and the staff were absolutely wonderful. Tram or bus stops outside take you into Amsterdam’s centre in about 15 minutes. We’ll definitely be back, and would highly recommend it.

There’s a small farm nearby, which was a delightful surprise, and the bus and tram stations are an easy walk away. The hotel was very welcoming, with amazing service. I’d definitely recommend it for a stay with friends or family.

The price feels about right for what you get, though I’d put this closer to a 3-star chain such as Premier Inn or Motel One than the kind of 4-star service I’d expect from NH, Radisson, or Crowne Plaza. Amsterdam West is a commuter area, with signs of economic decline, and it doesn’t feel as lively as it used to. Check the location before booking. Trams were having problems during my visit, so I needed a lot of taxis. The hotel itself is acceptable, and most staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is OK and the view is great, but hot food is limited to the buffet. You can’t ask for an omelette, which doesn’t feel like 4-star breakfast service. Room cleaning seems poorly organized and gets skipped for various reasons. Even cleanings agreed with reception weren’t done, and I had to chase them up too often. Room service is close to nonexistent: there are no menus in the rooms or at reception. You have to go up to Floor 17 to see the menu, which has no more than 8 items. The bedroom coffee supply is capped at 2 cups before cleaning is needed, and rooms aren’t cleaned daily.
