Manikomio is tucked between two shops, a few paces from Dam Square, with lots of places to eat nearby. Even so, the room is up two flights of stairs and so quiet that it's easy to forget how close you are to the city's bustle. It was very clean and comfortable, and the owners were friendly and hospitable. The price felt very reasonable for the location. The shared bathroom is beautiful, and the kitchen has food, coffee, and a fridge available. I'd recommend staying here and would happily come back.

Our room was small but tidy and very comfortable, and the shared bathroom was very clean. We never had trouble using it when we needed it. The reception was friendly and welcoming. The stairs are steep, though that's like everywhere else in the city. The location is perfect, right in central Amsterdam, three minutes from Dam Square, in front of the canal and beside several bars with seating by the water. Our room faced the street, so it was quite noisy with the window open. Closing it blocked most of the sound, and it didn't disturb our sleep, but very light sleepers may want to keep that in mind.

A great spot close to everything, fine for crashing for a couple of nights in Ams. Check-in is only from 2pm to 6pm, though. Arrive in the city after 6pm and you lose the night. The 21st century hasn't arrived here.

You only get a shared bathroom, and the house is used privately. It seems to have just two rooms, so I wouldn't call it a hotel. Unfortunately, the owners were very unfriendly.

Guys, beware. This isn't a real hotel. The people were unbelievably unfriendly and unprofessional. I've never experienced anything like that. Take care!
