MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam City West

For improvement, I’d add more kitchenware such as tupperwares, bowls and sharp knives, plus an exercise room. The big common areas and kitchen were really convenient for cooking meals. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Martin at reception did a wonderful job. It’s in a great spot near a bus and train station, and overall we had a great experience.

The views from the 7th floor were spectacular, and Amsterdam sloterdijk is right outside, so the location was perfect. The room was compact but just right for a solo traveler, with a spacious bathroom. The hotel has great amenities and common spaces, including a well set up kitchen, laundry, games, bar and breakfast area. Special thanks to Sharleen for her help and warm hospitality.

There’s a paid luggage storage service to keep in mind if you arrive early. We got there at 10 AM and had to rent a locker, which cost €4–€6 for hourly/6-hour use. Even with that fee, we’d stay again and highly recommend it for its location and atmosphere. This is a great hotel for young travelers and groups, right beside Sloterdijk Station and the FlixBus terminal, which made long-distance travel seamless. It has a youthful, dorm-like feel, suitable room sizes and a very handy communal kitchen.

The staff’s arrogant, dismissive manner made us feel like a burden instead of welcome guests, and it ruined what could have been a pleasant stay. In hospitality, attitude matters as much as the facilities, and the service left us disappointed. The hotel itself has good facilities and a convenient location near major attractions, restaurants and public transportation. Despite those positives, the overall experience was disappointing.
