Boutique Hotel Oosteinde

A good option for a few days in Amsterdam. The place is stylish, and the people here are friendly and helpful. Rooms are small and lean more toward style than function, but that worked fine for a quick stay. The center isn't too far, and there are grocery stores nearby. The elevator doesn't run late at night, which is helpful if you're a light sleeper. Noise was absolutely fine.

We had a huge room, and the service was excellent, with really kind and helpful staff. A couple of minor issues: our TV didn't work the first night, and the concrete floor felt a bit slippery, which worried me near the shower, especially since it has no door. The location is good, quiet enough but still close to the tram and walkable. Rijksmuseum and Moco are within walking distance, and there are nice shops and restaurants close by.

They advertised the hotel falsely. We were put in a basement room with wire bars on the window, half underground and looking out onto a parking lot. It was dirty, with spiders, dust and mold, and there were dirty white marks on the curtain. The shower has no door, so water spills onto the bedroom floor. You can't complain to the hotel either: the phone number is fake and the manager is unreachable. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

My trip was cancelled because of bad weather, which meant I couldn't reach the hotel. The train line doesn't offer accommodation refunds for this kind of situation because it's beyond anyone's control. I asked the hotel to move my booking to the exact same days the following week and offered to pay any rate difference. I wasn't asking for a refund. The woman was rude and offered no help or compassion. I cited Dutch Civil Code (Burgerlijk Wetboek, Article 6:75), saying that because the problem was beyond my control and I couldn't get to the hotel, I shouldn't be liable for the charges. I haven't had a response yet. I'm filing a fraudulent charge against them, sending an official legal citation for a court request, and have reported it to booking.com. They are the least compassionate people and are breaking the law. There are far better hotels to book, with better rates and kinder hospitality. DO NOT BOOK HERE.
