The friendly enough staff and amazing location were the main positives. There’s everything you need nearby without the madness and noise of Amsterdam’s main tourist area, and a tram stop right outside the front door takes you to central station. But this second stay was a disappointment, and I’m not sure I could come back. If they sorted out the cleanliness, it would be an amazing spot. On my first visit, the walls were stained and the rooms were far from soundproof, though it was bearable. This time the room was even dirtier. The sheets looked unwashed, with hairs and bits of dirt on them, and the towels didn’t look changed either. The next day room service took both hand towels, including the one you absolutely need as a mat after the shower, and replaced neither. There’s no hand soap. Doors slamming woke us pretty early. The TV didn’t work on either visit, and the broken lamp was hanging off the wall both times. The Aircon won’t turn off and occasionally makes a weird noise for a while.

We were in a quiet, central neighbourhood, which was the best thing about the stay. The hotel itself was very poorly cleaned: dusty surfaces, walls marked with mosquito blood, and a toilet that looked as if it had been wiped with a dirty cloth. There was no hand soap, and we got fewer towels each day. One receptionist was unpleasant, though the others were nice. For the same price, we could have found somewhere much better, so I wouldn't stay here again.

We left in the middle of the night after the front desk said there were no spare blankets. We'd booked a two-bedroom room and had only one blanket, and the mattress was stained in a dirty room. The staff member's unfriendly attitude made an already awful customer service experience even worse. This was easily one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. I can't recommend it and wouldn't wish it on anyone.

The hygiene was so bad I checked out immediately. The pillows had blood stains, there were insects in the bed, and dead flies and unknown stains covered the walls and ceilings. I wasn't offered another room. The front desk said I would get a refund, but the manager was rude and refused, even though I felt the hotel had breached its contract by providing such a dirty, unhygienic room. The staff, especially the blonde woman, and the manager were all disappointing.
