Q-Factory Hotel

We were in a cozy part of Amsterdam, with a great cafe downstairs and restaurants nearby. On Saturday there was a concert, but we didn’t hear anything from our room. Our room was very large, clean, warm and modern, with a kettle and a window that opens. The train into central Amsterdam is just a few minutes away, and the tram can take you out to the outskirts in about 10 minutes. We had a great stay.

If you don’t mind being visible in the bathroom to people across the street, and remember to bring slippers, you might still have a nice stay. The floors are concrete, with a small, rather sad rug in the middle of the room. The bathroom window looks straight across to other apartments and has no blinds. Staying here for one night was definitely an experience.

We knew this was a three-star hotel, and the experience matched what we expected. The staff were friendly and the service was great. They also provided the travel crib we asked for. The rooms were spacious, though ours didn’t look quite like the pictures, and we would’ve liked a bigger table or desk. The hotel rooms are on the third floor, with a lounge and bar on the second and a restaurant and bar on the first. It could get noisy at night on weekends.

The room was on the small side, but it had everything we needed since we spent most of our time out exploring Amsterdam. Staff were all very nice and accommodating, and public transportation was very close to the hotel.
