Chasse Residency Hotel

It's a lovely choice for a short stay, self-contained, and it's easy to say whether you want the room cleaned. I liked being outside Amsterdam's main central area, where walking out gives you a nicer local feel. Nearby transport was adequate: either a 15-minute walk to a major station or just a couple of minutes on foot to a bus.

The reception staff were nice and the rooms were okay, though the tidiness could've been better. At check-in, I found the shower head on the floor with a thick, long hair stuck to it. Breakfast was alright and there was a fairly good selection, but the fruit wasn't ideal. There was a bowl of whole, unprepared fruit to pick up and eat, which I don't think suits a hotel. A separate plate had just one kind of cut fruit each day, pineapple one day and melon the next. Both still had their skin on and weren't very ripe.

The staff were very kind, and breakfast had plenty of good options. The room was clean and had what I needed, including a small fridge, though it could make some noise at night. In the room type I had, you might bump your head on the ceiling. It's a good hotel and less expensive than others. The center is a bit farther away, but a tram toward central Amsterdam runs every 10 minutes or so, and the stop is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Amsterdam Amstel train station is another option, about a 15-minute walk away.

The hotel and rooms were amazing, a perfect size and fully stocked. Mine had a blow dryer, iron and ironing board, small kitchen area and a big closet. The staff were A++++, welcoming and knowledgeable. A special shout-out to IVAN on the overnight shift. He was so kind and welcoming. I've been a Concierge for about 12 years in the NJ/NY area, and I know a great concierge when I see one. IVAN definitely checks all the boxes for becoming great at what he does. I also need to apologize to the front desk for oversleeping and checking out an hour late. They called my room to wake me and gave me time to get myself together. Thank you so much for being so hospitable. And please walk around the neighborhood, you won't regret it!
