Citadines Canal Amsterdam

We stayed as a family in two separate rooms. It’s a modern city hotel with all the amenities, and the self-service bar area and shared facilities were excellent. The kids loved the complimentary hot chocolate!

Helpful staff, and thanks to Tate for the warm welcome. The hotel is within a five-minute walk of the 52 metro line, good restaurants, and an excellent wine shop. Rooms are modern, there’s a selection of free coffee and tea, and water is available 24/7. There’s also a small workout room. I’ll probably come back.

The lobby lounge was a highlight for me: it’s beautiful, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out, with comfortable space to work and complimentary high-quality coffee. Georgia, the chef, also deserves a special mention. She was accommodating and went out of her way to make delicious vegan meals for me when I asked. The hotel was clean and well organized, and the staff were helpful and professional. Its location made it easy to get to the places I wanted to see in Amsterdam. It was a wonderful stay, and I’m grateful to the whole team for making it memorable.

We made dinner in the room a couple of times because the kitchenette was so well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. The room was clean and nicely designed, and we liked having Chromecast on the TV for streaming. Breakfast had a good range of options. Laundry was handy, though a full dryer load will probably need two runs, and each wash or dry cycle costs 5 euro. The hotel also rents bikes for about 20 euro a day, though we didn’t use them. It also seems very accessible for people with disabilities, especially given the location. Getting around was simple. We took the metro from the train station to the hotel, walked to Jordaan and Rijksmuseum, and took a tram to ARTIS park and Resistance Museum. It’s in a nice, quiet spot and was super convenient for what we wanted to see in Amsterdam.
