SWEETS - Omvalbrug

I never got inside because the door wouldn’t open through the phone app. Unfortunately nobody could come over, and the alternatives they offered were across the city. That wasn’t workable for me since it was almost midnight and would have taken quite a while. I’m giving two stars because I like the concept and the place looked lovely in the pictures.

We live just around the corner, but booking this room for my partner’s birthday made it feel like we’d gone somewhere else for the night. During those strange COVID times, we wanted a little getaway. Great price, great design, and a fascinating history. I highly recommend these “Sweet” and DOPE hotel rooms. Do it now!

Save your money, this was terrible. There’s a loud train right next to one side and a noisy street on the other. The building is covered in graffiti, people hang around outside, and the place feels unsafe. Don’t believe me? Book it and see.

It’s an experience in its own right, not just a hotel stay. The building used to be a hut for security and controlling passage through the canal, then an architectural firm renovated it into a hotel. As an architect, I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. They’ve thought of everything you need, so you can just enjoy it :)
