What started as derelict buildings has become a collection of charming little places to stay. Sweets Hotel has 28 bridge houses, each a cozy private retreat in the heart of Amsterdam. They’ve won plenty of awards, and the mobile keyless access is a point of pride. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the city, these miniature palaces might brighten your visit.

The view was amazing, and the bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood is nice, though the most popular spots in the city are a bit of a walk away, so I ended up taking more Ubers than planned. It’s a unique experience, but the room is extremely small, with nowhere to store luggage or move around. I had to use the provided earplugs every night because you sleep right on the street. They required a three-night stay, which felt too long for a place better suited to one or two nights.

The bed was really comfortable, and I liked all the extra touches. A fun, unusual stay in a central location, and the noise wasn’t too bad.

Waking up here makes you feel connected to the city right away. The room was clean and cozy, and sleeping there with my girlfriend felt really romantic. It’s an amazing experience, unlike anything I’ve seen before despite traveling all over the world. Go there!
