Quentin Arrive

It was really cheap, the staff were nice, and we got free mini stroop waffles in the lobby. The room was tiny, had no AC and was really hot. The elevator wasn’t working, and the stairs were very steep and narrow, making it hard to carry our suitcase. There was no shower on the fourth floor, so we had to go down one floor. I’d recommend it only for people on a tight budget :)

The staff were attentive, and the reception stayed open around the clock. When we had a heating problem in our room, they sorted it out straight away. We’d definitely come back to this lovely little hotel.

The location in Haarlemmerbuurt was a real plus for us, close to the city centre and in one of our favorite parts of Amsterdam. We found the room and the shared toilet and shower clean, with no mold at all. It wasn’t a big room, but it was big enough, and opening the windows gave us good ventilation. We also appreciated the service when booking: we hadn’t booked ahead, so they showed us the room and shared facilities first to make sure we were happy before paying. The only thing I missed was a soft nightlight. Hotel lights are always too bright for me, and that’s been true everywhere I’ve stayed. I can’t understand the one-star reviews. We had a perfect stay.

The location was very convenient, right by the central station and the centre. The place was pleasant and matched what the booking site described. It could have been cleaner, and there was no toilet paper. There’s no elevator, just stairs.
