B&B Carpe Diem

I’ve visited Maastricht often, but this was my first time in lovely Eijsden. We brought our bikes and rode into Maastricht center every day, about half an hour away. Free parking is right outside, a huge supermarket is around the corner, and Lidl is next door, so we had everything close by. Our suite was a dream, and we were immediately taken with Vera's courtyard. It had a sauna, an open fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen. The terrace was huge and beautifully furnished, with a large pool all to ourselves. I couldn’t believe what we got for the price. Breakfast was wonderful each day, and the meals were lovingly made.

The beds were comfortable and the sauna was great. We were disappointed the pool wasn’t ready, though the weather wasn’t really right for it anyway. The dog didn’t bother us and brought lots of cheer. Everyone was hospitable and helpful, but the towels smelled of smoke. The kitchen was pretty sparse too, so a few more things in it would help.

We felt welcome right away. The landlords were very friendly and spoke German. It’s the best experience we’ve had in a while, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.

The barking dogs were a lot when we first arrived, though it wasn’t so bad once we’d been to the B&B. The place was very large, but I’m not sure what all that space was for. Breakfast was good. The towels and bedding smelled of smoke, and it really needed a dusting and vacuuming. We won’t be back.
