SWEETS - Beltbrug

We’re big fans of SWEETS hotels, and this August stay was another lovely one. The room is compact and cozy, with the toilet and shower together, plus a larger main space with a bed, desk, and cabinets. The bed was very comfortable, and both the view and location were great. The entry app was convenient, too. We arrived before our code was ready, but housekeeping kindly let us leave our luggage and were considerate about our timing. They did a great job. I can’t recommend the bridge houses enough.

Inside was amazing, and the location was great. It was quiet, with a windmill to see, though the bathroom was tiny. I wouldn’t use the shower. The outside was a bit rough, but it was a great experience.

The house was charming and very clean, both inside and out. It’s around a 20-25 minute walk east to the city centre, which gets you away from a lot of the tourism. Nearby there are good cafes, coffee shops, grocery stores, an ATM, and more. Scooters going over the bridge at night might bother light sleepers, though earplugs are provided. I’m a light sleeper and it didn’t bother me. I was only here briefly, but it was a great place. Would recommend.

The canal and windmill were right there when we woke up, and we also got to see the bridge open and close several times. We stayed at the beginning of March, when it was quite cold, but the heating kept the stylish, well-planned room cozy. It had everything we needed, including slippers and robes. There’s a supermarket and nice places to eat and drink nearby, and trams and buses make it easy to get around Amsterdam. My only small gripe was the slow wifi. Highly recommended!
