The Diamond

We were there in June 2025 for my boyfriend's birthday, and someone helped arrange a cake and decorations. That cost extra, and I think the price could be lower. The room felt really cozy, and breakfast was tasty with lots of choice. 👌🏻 The reception was the weak spot. Some people were helpful, others seemed confused, and once we waited quite a while for assistance. I have a hospitality background, so at a hotel of this level I found it hard to understand why reception would be left without anyone to help guests for so long. The service there should match the beauty of the hotel.

The Circle room was very small for two people with two big suitcases, though I knew that before we checked in. They'd made good use of the space, and the room felt modern, with lots of technology built in. We had a great stay, and the location is probably the best in Amsterdam.

The room was okay, but nothing special, and it felt expensive for what we got. We also never received the complimentary Heineken from the minibar. The location was good, but I think you can get more for your money elsewhere. Staff were a little rude, and the small details that make a stay feel thoughtful were missing. We'd booked a “city view” room, but there wasn't a city view. I called reception on my own phone because the room phone was broken. They apologized and said they needed to change the description on booking.com. When I asked if they could do anything, they offered free breakfast, then abruptly ended the call.

It was calm and relaxing despite being close to everything. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Everything went smoothly from check-in through checkout. A perfect hotel in a great spot.
