The Muse Amsterdam Hotel

Breakfast was tasty and filling, and the rooms were clean and cosy. The staff also gave helpful tips on places to see. The hotel is on a tram line, so it’s easy to get around the city or reach the airport, and plenty of good restaurants are within walking distance.

The staff were great, and the location worked perfectly for getting around. Tram lines 12, 3, 5, and 14 are just around the corner and can take you where you need to go. The hotel rents bicycles too. The room was nice for one person, though it might have felt a little cramped with two.

The front desk staff were lovely and accommodating, and the location was great. Popular attractions were within walking distance, or you could take the bus. But the room was very small, and the toilet seat was cracked. I found hair in the bed and in other corners, so I don’t think housekeeping met basic standards. The mattress topper was too big for the bed and made sleeping uncomfortable. The AC was above the bed, and I felt very congested every morning. The staff were great, but I wouldn’t recommend the hotel or return.

I regret booking this hotel. The room was dirty and poorly maintained, and finding hair and stains on the sheets and pillows made me feel disgusted about sleeping in the bed. The bathroom wasn’t clean either: the shower curtain was stained and moldy, the tiles and grout were dirty, and maintenance overall seemed lacking. The shower’s awkward design made it very uncomfortable to use. I also killed more than four mosquitoes in the room despite never opening the window, which left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and unsafe about the hygiene. I chose the hotel because its Booking and Google photos looked great and it had lots of positive reviews. My stay was a big disappointment, far from what I expected, and the lack of cleanliness and care is unacceptable.
