The breakfast showed off the area’s famous eggs, with plenty of fresh food for two: different kinds of eggs, cheese, three types of warm bread, butter, fruit, a yogurt drink and spreads. It arrived in a basket at the time I asked for. The apartment was spotless and comfortable, with a kitchen, kettle, coffee machine and soft drinks in the fridge. Wi-Fi was strong, parking was free, and the hosts were warm, down-to-earth people who clearly work hard looking after the barn and animals. Outside, it felt like a scene from a children’s story, with haystacks, farm animals and lovely little buildings, and no bothersome noise or views. I visited in November, when it was 3 outside, but the Honeywell central heating kept the apartment at a cozy 26. I could’ve sat there and let the world spin by without a care. Ten out of five!

A warm welcome from the farmer’s family, and the place was clean with a good, fresh breakfast. From Barneveld it’s a short drive, so having a car helps.

We found this B&B by chance on our cycling holiday and were glad we did. The owners were very friendly, and the apartment even has a fully equipped kitchen. Plus supermarket is 2 km away, an easy trip even after a long ride. Breakfast the next morning was a treat: rolls and bread, eggs, sausage, cheese, jam, chocolate sprinkles, Greek yogurt and orange juice. It was delicious and healthy. We’ll definitely return if we’re in the area again.

We really enjoyed the house, the lovely garden and the cozy rooms we could use. It’s such a picture-perfect place in a beautiful setting. Dirkjan, thanks so much for being hospitable, flexible and friendly over the past few days, and for arranging everything so well. We had a fantastic time and hope we get the chance to come back.
