Holiday Home in De Cocksdorp

Lovely views across the green fields from these comfortable, well-equipped little houses. You can park free right outside and walk to the restaurants in De Docksdorp. Reasonable price for Texel as well!

We stayed in the 8-person house in early April, six of us including two toddlers. Loads of room for them to run around, with a big kitchen/dining space and a lovely terrace opening onto a large garden. The beds were really comfortable. Each of the four bedrooms has its own shower and toilet, and there's another toilet off the downstairs hall. The bathrooms were good and all had small windows. It's a great small park on the edge of De Cocksdorp, within walking distance of the supermarket, kibbeling stand and main road. The view from the terrace and living room is still lovely, though new housing behind the park means it's no longer completely open. My one little improvement would be a portable gate for the stairs, which are fairly steep.

A peaceful little holiday park and a handy base for getting around Texel. The cottages are clean, well cared for and comfortably furnished. Even in the connected cottages, you can have plenty of privacy if that's what you want. We could have used more plates, cutlery and so on. With five of us, we got through everything in a day, which meant running the dishwasher half full. The stairs were another issue: steep and narrow, with tiny steps and no handrail on the open side. Not ideal when you're half asleep and need to go down for the toilet or a drink. Luckily there was a downstairs bedroom, so I slept there with the youngest. I haven't any photos to share, but the website gives a good look at the cottages.
