The location between the train station and the town square worked perfectly. Breakfast has a good reputation for a reason, and the hotel itself is a gem. Its spacious, welcoming lobby is a social place to sit, with a nice view of city life, and there’s also pleasant outdoor seating by the entrance. Our first-floor room was large, modern and clean, with a record player for vinyl. The common areas were just as tidy. Best of all, the employees were pleasant, attentive and professional from arrival through departure. A lovely hotel in a very nice city, easily recommended.

We had a great few days here. The hotel is conveniently close to all amenities, and Deventer is a beautiful city. The atmosphere is lovely, the rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated, and the staff are second to none.

This was my third time at Finch, again just for one night, and I enjoyed the stay as before. My top-floor room was spacious, with a double bed, a two-person couch, a small work area and a comfortable, roomy bathroom. The layout was smart and the decor tasteful. There were plenty of electrical outlets, including one by the desk, and several kinds of lighting. The main lights could be dimmed to suit the time of day. The bathroom had a shower and sink, plus daylight from a large window. It also had blinds for anyone who prefers them, though there were no direct neighbors. Highly recommended for the third time!

The hotel is about an hour by train from Amsterdam. Deventer station still has a Hanseatic feel, and the hotel with its wonderful atmosphere is right there when you get off. The rooms are small, but thoughtfully arranged and very comfortable. The welcome was wonderfully friendly, and with restaurants and bars nearby, I never got bored during my three-night stay. Breakfast was top notch: plenty of choice, fresh and full of flavour. Maybe a little too much, though that’s hardly a complaint. The room was perfect, clean, with great pillows and, thankfully, air conditioning in the current 28-degree heat. The staff were happy, professional and so obliging, with a little Dutch flare. Thanks for a great stay in a lovely city!
