We stayed at Huize Mesch for one night on Christmas Day. The garden room was comfortable, and after a warm welcome we had a beer in the shared lounge. Fresh breakfast came with their homemade jellies. There are plenty of walking maps for the area, and the village center and Belgian border are about a five-minute walk away. Mesch was the first Dutch village liberated during WWII. It's a lovely place to relax and enjoy nature, with Maastricht and other nearby cities within easy reach.

The owner was very friendly, and the room was tidy and practical, with a really comfortable bed. In this quiet village, breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade jams.
