Downtown Hideaway, B&B Grand Deluxe

The food was delicious, and everything felt new, modern, and clean. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and flexible. Set in a quiet spot just a five-minute walk from the city centre, this is the best B&B I’ve ever stayed in.

Couldn’t have been better!

Breakfast was a treat every morning, with fresh ingredients, lovely presentation, and delicious flavors. The hostess is clearly a talented cook. Even tea came with thoughtful extras, like fresh ginger and lime always set out on the table. Everything in the house feels carefully arranged and lovingly looked after. Downtown Hideaway B&B is set at the back of a beautiful, well-kept garden, so it’s peaceful even though the city centre is an easy stroll away. The garden has lovely little touches: cushions by the pond for watching the fish, and chairs with sun hats, binoculars, and a bird book for spotting birds in the nearby nature reserve. The house is tastefully decorated and meticulously cared for. Frans and Hetty welcomed us warmly and struck a great balance between being helpful and giving us space. They were happy to help with restaurant reservations or suggest a pleasant walk, while letting us enjoy our stay at our own pace. It felt like a dream from the moment we arrived. We’d love to come back and try more of what she has to offer. It’s a special place to unwind while still enjoying the city and nature. Highly recommended!
