Novotel Eindhoven

The room was compact but had enough space, with a double bed and a double sofa bed, and we all got a really good night's sleep. We had a lovely one-night family stay before collecting our rental car from the airport. The grounds, pool and terrace were nice, dinner was really good, and the staff were helpful, efficient and friendly. The only cost that caught us out was the €20 taxi for a five-minute ride. Breakfast was too pricey for us, so we skipped it.

The dinner was a real highlight. The steak, mixed vegetables and chocolate mousse were all excellent, and the Rituals products in the bathroom were a nice touch, though I couldn't tell whether the shampoo and shower gel were actually different. Unfortunately, the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied, and the door between my room and another room meant I could hear the people next door clearly. The interior and breakfast felt more like a 3-star hotel than a 4-star one. I'd consider staying here briefly for nearby business if I didn't expect a 4-star experience. I wouldn't recommend it for a vacation, and the value for money doesn't compare well with other nearby hotels.

The room was clean and comfortable, and both the restaurant and bar had great food and service. I travel for work a lot and have stayed in plenty of hotels, but the staff here stood out for being so helpful and extremely polite. Thanks for taking such good care of me.

I travel a lot for work, and this was close to one of my worst hotel experiences. The breakfast was far too expensive for what was served: €23 a day for what felt like a piece of toast. On my first morning the eggs were cold, and the rest of the food looked as if it had been sitting out for a while. We were also rudely yelled at for sitting at a dining room table that had no reserved sign. We had to move in the middle of breakfast instead of being allowed to finish. The next day, half the restaurant's tables were marked reserved, which made it seem like someone had simply forgotten the signs the day before. They never called to say my laundry was ready. I went down at 10:30 pm to collect it and asked why I hadn't been told. The answer was, "we figured you would come get it." I would have, if I'd known it was ready.
