Bastion Hotel Geleen

I’d happily make this my regular stop in this part of Limburg. The rooms were spotless, with a very good bed and bathroom, and parking was free. The staff were friendly too, and the price felt like good value.

The staff made us feel so welcome that we left feeling loved. Ibrahim was especially lovely with our son, giving him a wooden car and spending time talking and playing with him. He was great with children, and the families there seemed to get the same warmth. Breakfast was very good, with bacon and eggs, and you could ask the staff to make scrambled eggs. We’d come back for sure. The location worked well for our trip to the Valkenburg Christmas market, and the room was clean, with a coffee machine, fridge, safe box and smart TV that let us connect our own device. In the lobby there was a pool table and playing cards, and the bar stayed open very late. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. There were charging stations for electric cars in the parking area.

The room and bathroom were clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the beds were super comfortable. There was a coffee machine and fridge, though no water or drinks were supplied; a vending machine is on the first floor. We had to push the beds together because there weren’t double rooms, which seems like an easy thing to sort out. Staff were always smiling and happy to help, and brought the extra pillows I asked for very quickly. I’d recommend staying here and would come back.

Breakfast had a good mix of hot and cold food, and you can ask to have eggs cooked the way you like. The rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and spacious, with a fridge, safe, coffee machine, soaps, shampoo, coat hangers and TV. It’s a little out of the way, but nice and quiet for a night’s sleep. We’ll stay again.
