Hotel Giethoorn

The hotel is simple, but it was clean, well located, and had free parking. We stayed in Room 20 near the electronic reception. Self check-in and checkout were both easy, and once we shut the upper window, the room was completely quiet. The location is excellent, with several boat rental places within walking distance. Summer gets busy, so book ahead. Dinner wasn’t available at the restaurant, but we found two others by walking down the main road. I saw other guests having trouble checking in. I’d suggest paying in advance, since there’s no cash option and no staff on hand if a payment fails.

The rooms were really nice, and the price felt quite fair. The only thing we found missing in the bathroom was hand soap, shower gel, and shampoo.

Renovation was going on during my stay, including painting the walls, so there was a strong smell and a lot of noise. The room was uncomfortably hot too. When I asked to move, I was told I’d have to pay extra. The experience fell short of what I expected. I hope guests are told about these conditions in advance, and that this kind of maintenance isn’t done while people are staying.

I'm from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦, and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Giethoorn. The staff were exceptionally kind and professional, and the place was super clean. Breakfast was honestly delicious, much better than I expected. This is definitely my go-to whenever I visit Giethoorn again. Highly recommended, and I’d happily stay again!
