Camping De Helleborus

After cycling all the way from Oldenburg, Germany, I arrived at the camp in the cold and was glad to find a Bon Fire to sit around. The electric blanket was top class too. I had one of the best nights of my life. I hope they keep the place just as it is, it’s almost perfect.

The service at de helleborus was excellent, and the staff were helpful and spoke English well. We made lots of nice memories with other campers and would definitely recommend staying here. The campsite felt pleasant and cozy, and we spent a lot of time relaxing on the Jubi’s great terrace. The kitchen had two fridges with enough room for us, though the cooking utensils could have been cleaner. Maybe they could go through the dishwasher weekly and replace the wooden ones now and then. The sanitary facilities were good and very clean for such a large campsite with compost toilets. Bring flip-flops for the showers. You can also get a discount at the nearby swimming lake. The highway was kind of noisy, so bring earplugs.

We only spent one night here, but I’d love to come back longer and use the lovely outdoor kitchen that guests can use. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of ingredients from their own forest and garden. All the tents and lodgings sit in a wooded area, which kept them comfortable even in the heat, and each has its own artistic character. A fantastic camping experience!

We had a lovely stay in the black betty. It was super comfortable and stayed warm with the heating. We rented a BBQ too, and it was great. Vit was really accommodating and helped us with everything, big thanks to her. I can only recommend it!
