Rijnhoeve

Fresh vegetables, preserves, and eggs were available to buy, which was a lovely bonus. The setting was delightful, and there were friendly animals nearby, along with the usual sounds and smells of a working farm. The apartment was clean enough, though not spotless, and there weren't many cleaning tools or supplies if we wanted to do more ourselves.

The patio had lovely views, and the apartment was clean and modern, with good beds, a strong shower, fast Internet, and a flat screen TV. The kitchen was well equipped apart from the integrated microwave oven, so there's no regular oven or grill for things like pizza or oven chips. Heating and air-conditioning were welcome when it was 28c in the evening, and there was plenty of parking. This was our first stay at Rijnhoeve, and we had a great time. It's a working milk cow farm that guests can explore, right by the Oude Rijn and nicely placed between Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The motorway is close without being too close, and the beach is 15/20 min away. Shops and a supermarket are 5/10 min away by car. The farmer who booked us in was really friendly and accommodating. He does a lot for charity, which I think is very nice. Bring mosquito spray and repellent wherever you go in Holland, as there's so much water and the mozzies are plentiful with the climate change. A great spot for relaxing and exploring, and I highly recommend it.

We had a great weekend away with friends. The apartment was very good, the staff were lovely, and it's all set on a beautiful working farm.

Such a scenic spot, with little calves on the farm and even a sheep trying to climb a tree. The apartment was nice and the beds were really comfortable. There were trampolines, swings, and go-carts to use too.
