Our host was so friendly and gave us directions for the places we wanted to visit, along with dining suggestions. The house is a little way from central Den Helder, but it's in Huisduinen, probably the nicest part of the city. Without a car, it's about a 15-minute walk from the bus station, and it's a lovely walk. Even the longer walk to the ferry was really nice. Den Helder is a 15-minute ferry ride from Texel, and the island is well worth it. The room suited us perfectly: cosy, very clean, and equipped with everything we needed, including a coffee machine and complimentary coffee and tea. We didn't have a private bathroom, but the shared one was very clean and stocked with bathroom essentials. Only one other room shared it with us. Our room also had a great view of the Lange Jaap Lighthouse. We had a very good stay and will definitely come back.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place is quiet and beautifully situated on the edge of Den Helder, near the lighthouse. The room was spacious and very clean, with glasses, dishes, and cutlery for making simple meals. The shared bathroom was modern and spotless.

We only stayed one night because of personal circumstances, but would have happily spent another night under the Lange Jaap. The room was lovely, and the bed comfortable. A microwave and coffee and tea were provided, and there's a nice bathroom in the hallway shared with the other rooms.

The owner was very friendly, and the room was wonderfully clean. It's a special spot, in a lovely location with a view of the Lange Jaap from the window.
