We had such a lovely weekend. The beds were super comfortable, and the house has a lot of charm. The owner was friendly, and they had provided towels, coffee, tea, and house socks. You're right in the center of Leeuwarden, which is a fantastic location.

I was left with a really disappointing experience and no service. My friends had given me a night at City House Grande Madame Agaath for my birthday, but when we arrived the door was shut because they said the place was unavailable due to a double booking. We'd reserved through Booking.com, while the other guests had booked directly. I was told it was my fault for not booking direct, which made no sense to me if they offer the accommodation on Booking.com. The tourist tax and towel charges had already been paid, yet after contacting them repeatedly, I never got that money back. There was no apology or attempt to sort anything out. I absolutely wouldn't book here.

They emailed us only 24 hours before we were due to arrive on March 28 to say our apartment booking had been cancelled because of a system error and overbooking. We'd booked in early February, choosing Ster Logies Leeuwarden for its central location and our plans. By then we were already travelling to Leeuwarden, having missed the email. A phone call would have been the professional way to alert us to something so urgent. The explanations didn't add up. A week earlier, we'd received a WhatsApp asking us to check in, but the final email said our reservation had been "loaded" and was "not visible" in their system. It seemed like a poor excuse, and made us wonder if the apartment had gone to someone paying more or staying longer. We'd booked and paid well in advance, so it felt as though our reservation no longer mattered. When we finally saw the cancellation, we hoped they'd take responsibility and help us find somewhere else. Instead, they told us to find a hotel ourselves or go home. The alternatives they suggested cost much more and weren't in the city center, the very reason we'd picked this apartment. They also refused to speak by phone and stuck to impersonal emails, which made it almost impossible to resolve anything. The responses felt indifferent and gave us no sense that they wanted to help. This ruined our weekend. The service was poor and misleading, and the company showed a shocking lack of responsibility and transparency. I wouldn't trust Ster Logies Leeuwarden to handle a booking fairly or professionally, and can't recommend it to anyone wanting a carefree holiday.
