The property is quiet in the morning. We could watch people cycling past and hear birds singing and church bells as we woke up. It made for a peaceful, picturesque stay that really soothed the soul, and we couldn’t have been happier with the place. The little apartment felt like home, cheerful and cozy, with a kitchen and a big living room table where we played board and card games. The shopping center in Leiden is surprisingly close, just a short walk over. The host’s chickens greeted us each morning as we left through the gate. The Dutch stairs took some getting used to, but we found it fun, especially as we encountered them around the Netherlands during our trip.

A very welcoming host and a quiet spot, with the old town an easy walk away. We had a perfect stay. Just had to hunt a bit for the cutlery, it’s tucked away in the sideboard in the living room :D

A clean, lovely apartment with games provided and good Wi-Fi. Carla was a friendly hostess, and the surroundings were nice. Shops and restaurants are close enough to reach on foot.

I asked to move my booking because of the partial lockdown at the time, but there wasn’t any flexibility, not even a €10 discount. I was told there were no restrictions and everything was fine. I hope the Quellhorst family stays healthy through this uncertain period. It’s regrettable to me that profit seems to matter more than health.

Carla is such a kind person, and the house feels so welcoming. It was really hard to leave...💖
