We only stayed briefly, but it was a pleasure. The apartment was spotless, with a high quality interior, and it’s close to the city center. The owner family were very friendly. There was water and juice in the fridge, plus coffee and a bottle of red wine, which is better than what you get in many hotels. Many thanks. Andrea and Christian

A lovely place for a short visit or a longer stay in Maastricht, and the hosts are nice. I always wish I could stay longer.

Our stay at “Mansion 6” in Maastricht was frightening and deeply unsettling. I was there with my minor daughter. The host who greeted us seemed very drunk, then subjected us to a long, unpleasant interrogation in a hostile tone. He said we’d “meet and talk again tomorrow,” which came across as a threat of another confrontation with someone intoxicated, not normal communication. The house has one shared entrance. The host lives upstairs and rents the downstairs space, but there was no real privacy or security. He walked through the area meant to be our private space, opened the main entrance door from inside, then went upstairs through an internal door connecting our area to his. That door locked only from his side. We had no lock on ours, so he could come in whenever he wanted, while we couldn’t secure ourselves or our belongings. With a child, this felt completely unacceptable and unsafe. We left the next morning and paid for another hotel ourselves, essentially paying twice to have a safe, private place to stay. Despite several requests from Agoda, the host refused any refund, even a partial one. I find that behaviour immoral and unacceptable, especially given the safety concerns and that a minor was with me. I strongly advise against this place, especially for families, solo travellers, or anyone who cares about safety, privacy, and respectful treatment by the host.
