We had a good laugh and enjoyed the stay, and the staff were friendly whenever we could find them. But the Eve room beside reception really needs work. The bath is the only way to shower, and standing in it splashes water all over the room; sitting down to wash is hardly possible either. The sink sprays water in every direction and leaves the floor wet. The TV sits so low that half the screen is hard to see from bed, and there aren't enough lights, so there are dark corners. Opening the curtains helps, but then people can see right into the room, especially with reception next door. It seemed like one lovely young woman was doing everything. If nobody was at reception, we had to call, but the call was forwarded to a voicemail that asked us to leave a message and then said the storage was full, so it couldn't save it.

I don't hand out top ratings easily, but the team at Kasteel de Hoogenweerth earned this one. One of my daughters chose it for her wedding, and they took care of everything with real professionalism and attention to detail. They kept everyone comfortable while quietly working away in the background. I highly recommend the place and its wonderful team for weddings. They make the magic happen.

We stayed here for one night with our dog and had a lovely time, despite some trouble with the late check-in. The property feels secluded but is still very close to the city center. Our room was very clean, breakfast was great, and it was excellent value for the price. We'll definitely come back when we visit Maastricht.

Breakfast arrived in a super cute picnic basket, and the well-stocked minibar was included in the room rate, which was a nice surprise. The large double bed was very comfortable, with a warm quilt, and the bedroom with its bath inside was stylish, with superb attention to detail. The setting by the river is gorgeous, and there's a car charging point right outside the room, which was really handy. We could see the castle from our room, though access was prohibited. It's just a few kilometers from Maastricht center, but feels like its own little world. I'd definitely recommend this stylish small hotel.
