The room was above the restaurant, and the noise kept waking me up. Bins were taken out and people were talking at 1 am, then there was banging and shouting in the hallways. I was woken again in the morning by bins being wheeled out. Breakfast took 35 minutes to arrive, and the cooked option was sausage, bacon, and a hash brown. The room service pizza was inedible, with unmelted cheese that seemed to have just been put on top. We weren't given any cutlery, so my husband had to go downstairs and ask for some. The two 55-minute treatments, a full body massage and a facial, were scheduled for two hours, but both were finished in 1 hour and 35 minutes. That was disappointing.

The hotel is very clean, and the bacon at breakfast was excellent. I nearly gave it five stars for the stylish design, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. A couple of things could be better. The afternoon coffee seemed to come from the cheap breakfast machine, rather than the proper one I saw in the bar. The bathroom door is frosted glass and doesn't close properly, which could be a privacy issue.

The staff were attentive and always happy to help, and breakfast was very good compared with many I've had in the Netherlands. We only stayed one night, but The Alexander quickly became one of our favorite places to stay in the Netherlands. We felt welcome as soon as we walked in. Check-in was ready for us and easy, and we had a nice, large, modern room on the third floor with a view. We could also book a spot at the beach bar, which was 5 stars too. Late checkout costs €30 and lets you keep the room until 6 p.m. on your departure day. I like smaller hotels because they often feel more personal and have a soul, and The Alexander is just like that. Well-earned 5 stars.

The beach is just a short walk away, and we had a lovely sea view from our room. It was very quiet at night, and the beds were comfortable, so we slept well. The staff were all very friendly, and breakfast was perfect, with enough options to choose from without being overwhelming. We spent several days on vacation here and had a great time. The hotel has two electric car charging stations, and they worked fine. On our last day we used the nearby Azzurro Wellness area and booked late checkout for €30, which I think is quite a bargain. We could stay in the room until 18:00 that day. Thanks for a great stay. We'll be back.

We had a romantic stay in a large room with a comfortable balcony. I just missed having a direct sea view. The restaurant and beach club served amazing food, and the spa-gym was free to use, with deer wandering around the tennis courts. The beach and the forest in the dunes are a short walk away. We also recommend cycling through the dunes to The Hague.
