Motto By Hilton Rotterdam City Center Hotel

For my business trip, the Motto hotel was just right, in an excellent part of town. The rooms were clean and cozy, with all the comforts I needed, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was excellent too. Breakfast had everything you could ask for without being overwhelming, and the cheese was excellent, as expected.

The location is excellent, near Blaak Station and architectural sights, and the staff were amazing and very accommodating. I was allowed to check in very early, so that may have affected what I found: there was leftover food in the fridge, and I'm 70-75% sure the bedding hadn't been changed after the previous guest. Staff dealt with my concerns right away and had a good attitude. I didn't feel it needed to be escalated, but make sure housekeeping has taken care of everything. If you expect a signature Hilton hotel, you may be disappointed; this is more for travelers and commuters.

The rooms are compact, but cleverly laid out so everything has a purpose. I liked the clean design and the lively lobby, which works as both a café and a meeting spot and has that mix of Rotterdam creativity and precision. The staff were upbeat and genuinely helpful. It feels like a modern place with personality, made for travelers who enjoy simple, beautiful details and a little surprise.

The shower was the highlight for me, really spacious and splendid, and the lobby had a cozy, pleasant atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, and the hotel itself is beautiful. Our room was small but comfortable and well arranged, with a huge bed that took up nearly all the space. Jumbo is right next door, and the city centre is close enough that we did everything on foot. The cleaning was disappointing, though. I left the room-cleaning sign out and put used towels on the floor to be replaced, but when we came back, only the bed had been made. The floor hadn't been vacuumed, the table wasn't wiped, there was no extra toilet paper, and we had two fewer towels than when we arrived. We stayed six nights, and after that I didn't ask them to clean again. I recommend it for a visit to Rotterdam if small rooms and the cleaning service don't put you off.
