Stroom Rotterdam

The room was just right, and the bathroom and shower were lovely. We were upstairs, and it felt like having our own little place for a few days. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in. Staff were really friendly, and we had a comfortable, pleasant stay. It is expensive, but I thought it was worth it. I'd definitely recommend it. Thank you.

The cafe serves tasty food, including freshly baked bread, and the portions are large. Our server was a little slow and got our order wrong, though. A nice spot for breakfast.

The reception staff were friendly, but that didn’t make up for how uncomfortable the hotel was. My room felt like a prison cell: no opening windows, no proper place to sit or set down luggage, and a cramped toilet. The bed was so soft that I sank into it and woke with horrible back pain. I haven’t slept this badly in years. Breakfast was poor, with very few choices. The milk products from the coffee machine didn’t taste fresh, and although breakfast was supposed to start at 7:00, it wasn’t ready until 07:30. Restaurant service was a disaster too, with staff who were inattentive and communicated badly. The price felt far too high for what you get. They should improve room comfort, make sure the sockets and electrical fittings are clean and sensibly placed, offer a better breakfast, and stick to a definite breakfast time. There are plenty of small details they seem to focus on, but they don’t fix the things that matter to me in a hotel.

I’ve stayed here three times and will definitely come back. The beds are great, the rooms are quiet, and the Rituals soaps and bath gels are a nice touch. Staff are super friendly and helpful, and the prices feel fair for what you get. Rotterdam’s a great city, but with a room like this, I’m not in a hurry to leave. The whole stay is really relaxing, and finishing it with a meal at the restaurant is perfect.
