the bellhop hotel

We booked 11 months ahead, then our reservation was canceled 24hrs before we were due to arrive, with no reason given. Finding another hotel at the last minute cost us double and caused a lot of stress. I can only assume they've shutdown, so avoid at all costs.

The building is lovely, the rooms have a modern, aesthetic interior, and the bed was really comfortable. I knew there could be street noise, but it didn’t bother me. The location is super nice, and the cafe the bellhop gave me a voucher for was very good too. The voucher was a letdown, though. I booked a room with 'breakfast included' and expected a free breakfast, or at least a decent discount. I think the offer was only 10 or 15%, about 4 euro's off my breakfast. When you book a package with breakfast included, you expect breakfast to be covered, not to have to pay for it. Checking in and out with a mobile keycard was very convenient. Big thank you to the bar next door for letting me use their wifi to check in! The only awkward thing was having to step over the shower to get to the toilet. I’ll still book the bellhop again next time.

The atmosphere was AMAZING, the location ideal, and breakfast was great. The rooms looked just like the photos. It can get loud in the evening and at night, but closing the windows brought the noise down to an okay level. I’d recommend it if you want to stay right in the centre of town!

With the phone key, you can come and go whenever you like without worrying about reception hours. Just keep in mind that the stairs are fairly narrow. It’s a nice little hotel close to the centre, right in the middle of the bar area. You’ll hear some noise from people on the terraces, but it’s nothing too extreme and pretty much what you’d expect in a spot like this.
