Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel and Conference Center

The gym was the weak spot for me. It’s too small and doesn’t have enough equipment for a decent routine during a work week. Otherwise, the rooms are spacious, the service is fantastic, and the location works really well for business trips or an overnight stop before a flight. Just know that leisure attractions are at least 45 minutes away.

Breakfast was amazing, and the location is very convenient. But the room smelled like cigarettes or old carpet and dust. For this level of service, it’s too expensive, and check-in took forever. 🥱

The room itself was beautiful and comfortable, and getting there took only five minutes from the airport. We booked it for a 21-hour layover, then went into Amsterdam. It was freezing and damp outside, but we had a great time exploring before coming back to rest. Then I asked housekeeping for one extra bath towel. The person said we’d only checked in a few hours earlier and already had two towels, and asked why I needed another. When I repeated that I just needed one, she said she had to check with her manager and would let me know. I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world and never had service like that. Who needs a manager’s approval for a towel? We left at 7 the next morning, and the towel never arrived. The location and room get five stars from me, but housekeeping gets one. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for that reason.

We had to get through security and passport control and catch a flight, so we skipped the dining options. The room was clean and really quiet, and you can walk to the hotel from AMS without going outside. That’s a big plus for a quick layover.
