Some places just feel right as soon as you arrive. My wife and I had that feeling straight away at this cottage in Horst aan de Maas, where we spent New Year's Eve together. Our hostess welcomed us so warmly, with that Limburg hospitality, and the cottage felt like a warm coat: peaceful, comfortable, nicely furnished, clean, and with absolutely nothing missing. We stayed four days and used the sauna twice. It was superb, and relaxing on our own terrace with a view of the meadow and the edge of the forest was pure bliss. Sharing a glass of champagne in the sauna at midnight was unforgettable. The bed in the cozy upstairs room was incredibly comfortable, too. There's plenty of cycling and walking nearby. Sevenum is a nice place for groceries, shopping, and a meal, and Venlo is easy to get to if you're looking for more. We'd give it a 9.5 and will definitely come back! Marleen and Hans

The owner is lovely, and the house has everything we needed. All the pots and pans were there, along with food, coffee, tea, sugar, and even underfloor heating. We'd recommend staying here, and if we're in the Netherlands again, we'll definitely come back.

A lovely, spacious house that's quiet and clean, with everything provided. The bathroom is roomy too. The stairs up to the sleeping area are steep, so they take a little getting used to.
