We had a delicious breakfast, and the shower and toilet were good. The cottage is clean, beautiful, and cozy, with towels, a bathrobe, and slippers ready for us. Kitty and Sybrand are so welcoming. Sybrand had carefully heated the wonderful wood-fired hot tub, and there’s also a BBQ and an outdoor fireplace. The area’s lovely for walks or cycling. Nothing to complain about, we’ll definitely come back!

We felt right at home thanks to Sybrand and Kitty, who were so approachable and friendly, and could arrange almost anything. Their enthusiastic dog Bruno and sweet, cautious little cat Luna were lovely too. The Pipo is small, but really cozy, with a wonderful bed, very clean new sanitary facilities, and plenty of clean towels. Everything was there. We’ll certainly recommend the place to family and friends. During the hot days we enjoyed the Frisian ditches, lakes, and canals. There’s also a lovely lake with an impressive water ski course just five minutes away by bike. Sneek, with its lovely terraces and restaurants, is very close, and Leeuwarden is about a half-hour drive away. It’s a top spot. At the start of the week it was cooler, so we made great use of the hot tub. We spent hours enjoying the quiet of Frisian Offingawier and the starry sky with a beer and a glass of wine. They lit romantic lights for us, and we felt like royalty. What a lovely week in the gypsy wagon in Offingawier. The relaxing Friday feeling is hard to get at home!

We were disappointed in how this was handled. We had booked for April with a hot tub, but with the COVID-19 restrictions, we felt uneasy and wanted to move the stay to the off-season. We weren’t asking for a refund. Earlier that week, the extended intelligent lockdown had been announced, meaning restaurants and cafes would be closed and visits to nature reserves discouraged. Those were the two main reasons we’d planned a weekend away. They said we couldn’t reschedule or get our money back, even though the availability calendar still showed plenty of space. After we said we wouldn’t be coming and that the situation left us with a bad feeling, she explained that the conditions depended on where guests lived. People from abroad could reschedule for free, while guests from the Netherlands had to make and pay for a new booking. We’d wanted to avoid using 'Bookings' and 'Airbnbs' for once, but were turned away. More than €250 down the drain. What a shame!

Kitty welcomed us so warmly and was incredibly hospitable. They’d thought of everything, even a tasty drink for the hot tub. We had such a wonderful time at this beautiful place.
