Friese Hoeve Sneek

Breakfast had a broad choice of fresh, tasty food, and the room had a lovely view with everything we needed. The cleaners did a great job each day, and the reception team were professional and offered useful local tips. Everything felt comfortable and welcoming. The hotel exceeded what we expected, and the whole stay was smoothly arranged.

A pleasant, quiet spot for a night away. The rooms do carry sound, and breakfast was just adequate. I’d prefer single servings of spread instead of shared jars that everyone dips into.

We had to phone before heading to our room, but then we could walk there ourselves. There’s a big shared space, lots of parking, and coffee and tea whenever you want. The room was lovely in the converted farmhouse, and the breakfast was standard but perfectly fine for us. The location on an industrial estate is a little odd. The noise was the big problem: sleeping in wasn’t possible, with people repeatedly using the emergency exit and staircase right by our room, plus loud terrace conversations. Avoid rooms 7 and 8 if you want to escape that.

The common room and kitchen worked well for our 38-person youth association group, and the cozy space had disco lights and a good sound system, ideal for a party. We had a fantastic weekend, and the location was open and convenient, about a 20-minute taxi ride to Sneek. The contact was pleasant, and they were very helpful in planning things with us. The house itself felt a bit dated, though. The bedrooms, beds and bathroom facilities weren’t very hygienic, and the showers were poor, with barely any water coming out. A few things need fixing.
