The location worked well for us, with Soest an easy drive from Rotterdam and Amsterdam. We needed somewhere at short notice for one night with five adults, and Stayokay had a room for six available. The staff were helpful from our first call through the stay, answering questions quickly and arranging a simple late check-in. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and dust-free, and the bedding felt fresh. The toilet was fine, though the bathroom setup was awkward: there was only a shower head, without a proper shower, which wasn’t convenient when we checked in late and only wanted to rinse our feet. Breakfast had fresh fruit and tasty juice, but the rest was underwhelming. The eggs were overcooked, the coffee wasn’t great, and vegetarian choices were basically yogurt, cornflakes, and cheese.

The staff were very helpful whenever we asked for something, and the hostel provided what its website promised. I stayed three nights, and it was okay, much as the name suggests. I’d rate it higher if the price gave us even a small saving over budget hotels.

The kids had fun with the table football and board games, and we all slept well. It’s a great family place, even though the rooms are very simple. Breakfast was nice too, and the staff were friendly.

I’ve loved every Stayok hostel I’ve stayed in. This one had clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff, pleasant shared spaces, and it was welcoming for children. ❤️

It’s an easy walk of about 10 minutes from the railway station and main bus stops, and I’m looking forward to coming back. The room was basic, as you’d expect in a hostel, but spotless and everything worked perfectly. Breakfast was plentiful with a good range of choices. The communal areas and cafeteria had modern, tasteful furnishings, and the whole place had a lovely feel. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.
