Our paid booking was cancelled by the property a week before we were due to arrive. They said they weren't sure the boat would be back in time. Why accept reservations and payment, then? We had to find somewhere else at short notice, and it cost more. The worst experience ever.

We spent three nights at Hotelboot Zwaan. The room looked just like the photos, with two towels on each bed and a clean bathroom. Breakfast wasn't anything special, but it was very good. The captain was a really nice guy. It's only about 10-15 minutes from the red light district and other attractions, yet the boat itself is quiet, with a spot to relax. There are outdoor tables where you can sit and enjoy yourself. It felt like the perfect package to me. If I visit Amsterdam again, I'd probably stay there.

Rik owns the boat and is a friendly, nice guy. The wooden surfaces are shiny all over the place. The spaces are tight enough that you can feel like Gandalf in Bilbo Baggins' house, bumping your head on a wall! Breakfast is served at a big dining table, with cheese, ham, jams, coffee, juice, and the usual things. It's a very normal breakfast, nothing fancy. It's a pity there aren't many reviews, because I'm glad I tried this unique experience and would recommend it.
