I could use the gym and swim every day, often having the place to myself during a midweek winter stay. The room was clean and had plenty of storage, and we were very comfortable. The restaurant and bar were good value, and breakfast offered lots of choice. It’s a few minutes’ walk to a tram stop, then about a 20-minute ride to the city center. There are a couple of parks nearby that you can walk through to reach different areas, including the museum district and canal neighborhoods.

Our stay was very disappointing. We arrived late at night and only saw the room’s condition clearly the next morning. It wasn’t clean to a basic standard: the bed cover was damaged, there were visible stains and marks on the walls and bathroom mirror, and the floor hadn’t been cleaned properly. Walking barefoot, we could feel dirt and small particles. We reported this to reception straight away and contacted Booking.com because the room didn’t feel hygienic. We wanted to check out and move to another hotel. The morning receptionist clearly said we would get a refund for the three remaining nights, and confirmed we could stay in the room until 12:00 the following day because that night was already paid for. We accepted based on that agreement. Later that evening, another staff member said it was no longer valid. That wasn’t our mistake. It was a communication failure between shifts, and guests shouldn’t have to bear the financial consequences of staff not being aligned. Things got uncomfortable when we followed up about the bedsheets not being changed. The female staff member on the evening shift spoke in an argumentative, confrontational tone. Two staff members eventually came to change the sheets. One handled it calmly, but the other acted very unprofessionally and made the interaction unpleasant. We also saw visible dust behind the reception computer, which added to our concerns about the hotel’s hygiene. At check-in, we were asked for a €100 deposit per room, which we hadn’t clearly seen mentioned during booking. Given the condition of the room, that was concerning. The problems were the cleanliness, the inconsistent communication, and how our complaint was handled. The whole experience felt disorganized and unprofessional, and we can’t recommend the hotel.

The room was amazing: clean, spacious, nicely decorated, and had everything I needed. The staff were lovely and helpful. It was a little farther from town than I would’ve liked, but for the price and four stars, it was a no-brainer. The train station is very close, with a 20-minute ride to Central Station. I just wish I could’ve seen the breakfast menu before paying 22 euros. I wasn’t sure what was on offer and didn’t want to pay to find out they had nothing I fancied.

We really enjoyed being here. The room was peaceful and the location worked well. It wasn't ready when we arrived, but the manager did a lot to make us comfortable, including bringing the kids colouring supplies and little teddy bears. The pool and spa staff were friendly and helpful too, and gave the kids floats and pool toys.
