Crowne Plaza Utrecht - Central Station by IHG

The team made a strong impression: everyone was welcoming and professional, check-in and express checkout were easy, and I appreciated the personal note. Breakfast had what I needed, though it wasn't especially memorable. I spent two nights at the Crowne Plaza Utrecht – Central Station, right in the shopping mall and a short walk from Utrecht Central Station. With my IHG Diamond upgrade, I stayed in room 802. It was modern, clean, quiet, and well insulated, with a comfortable bed, a small couch, and a useful work area. The desk was mounted at a strange angle. The well-kept bathroom was a good size and had a bathtub. A few small things could be better: the Wi-Fi was slow and weak, showing only two bars; just one elevator was running, so there were waits; and the room had no notepad or pen and was missing a few small amenities, like a shoehorn. Even so, I'd stay again. It's a comfortable, convenient option for business, with a great team.

We really enjoyed our stay at Crowne Plaza. The room was spacious, spotless, and had everything we needed. Lotte helped us at check-in and was so lovely, and the F&B staff were amazing at dinner. When our train wasn't leaving until later, the staff looked after our belongings for 1-2 hours and took special care of the flower bouquet we'd bought in Utrecht. We appreciated that a lot. One interaction on our return was disappointing, though. We wanted lunch at the hotel restaurant before going to the station, but a woman at reception firmly told me, “No, you can’t.” When I asked why, she said, “Because you don’t stay here anymore.” I explained that the restaurant wasn't tied to a room number, but she still refused without explaining further. Her manner felt unnecessarily rude and below the service we usually expect from IHG hotels. As Gold Members, we were disappointed.

We got to check in a bit early, and the staff kindly stored our luggage. Breakfast had delicious choices, and everyone was very kind. The location was amazing, and the bed was so comfortable we slept like babies for more than 10 hours!

We really enjoyed our stay. The price was reasonable, the service excellent, and the staff friendly. Since the hotel is in a shopping mall, look for the P5 car park. Several lifts make it accessible for my disabled wife. If you're unsure how to get from P5 to the hotel, call reception and ask.
