Hotel Cafe Restaurant Van Den Hogen

The location was nice, and the service was good, but the mussels were a real letdown, especially at that price. They had almost no flavor and seemed to be missing the white wine. Mostly just broth with chunks of onion and celery. The photo shows the fries and salad that came as sharing portions for two.

We were twelve for dinner, and the finger food was just average. The place was really hot, with no air conditioning, and the service was awful. Staff were rude, and even putting in a simple order took several steps. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

The facilities were well cared for, with clean, spacious restrooms and good access for people with disabilities. There was even a wheelchair available. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the fresh seafood, carefully prepared and offered in a range of choices, with every dish we tried full of flavor. The restaurant sits in a beautiful spot in the Fishermen’s Village, overlooking the river. It’s an elegant, peaceful setting for a relaxed meal, and we found the visit memorable. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the Fishermen’s Village.

There were four of us at Van den Hogen, sharing different seafood plates, and we had plenty for everyone. The portions were just right, with lots of tasty options, all super fresh. The staff were lovely, friendly, and attentive, and the relaxed setting made the meal even better. Thanks 😊
