It’s a busy area, but my room had a good window and noise suppression, so I can’t complain. The bed was super comfy, and the room had air con, tea, coffee, and the rest of what I needed. Breakfast was nice. You choose from the menu and the girls bring it over.

Roompot Marinapark Volendam is in a beautiful, peaceful spot, with charming little houses and an easy walk to the lovely center of Volendam. Sadly, the location was the only good part of our stay. After driving over 1300 kilometers, we arrived to find a dirty bag of used bed linen by the parking area. We couldn’t check in before 4 PM, which was fine, but the house was filthy when we got in. The floor was visibly dirty, dog hairs were everywhere, there was trash around, and cobwebs on the walls. It clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned in weeks. We’d paid extra for bed linen, but none was provided, and the house was in an unacceptable condition. I complained at reception. The staff seemed indifferent and said nobody could come clean until the next day because it was after 4:30 PM. Nobody came during the remaining five days of our stay. We only got the linen after asking repeatedly, and staff exchanged passive-aggressive remarks in Dutch, apparently assuming we couldn’t understand. I know this isn’t a 5-star hotel, but this level of neglect is unreasonable, especially with a mandatory cleaning fee and units marketed as pet-friendly. If you charge for cleaning, the place should at least be clean on arrival. I’ve attached photos and videos of what we found. Roompot should take another look at its cleaning and guest experience. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless serious changes are made.

We got a very warm welcome to the hotel thanks to a kind staff member who saw us from her balcony trying the wrong entrance with our key card. Even though she was off duty and resting in her staff quarters, she came down to guide us to the right door. The signs weren’t clear, and the service centre had given me the wrong directions when I asked where 201 was. We went all the way to check the map at the entrance, not realizing 201 was a house. We arrived at 9 pm, after the service centre had closed, and got the key without any problem by ringing the bell and using the code they gave us for the key box above it. You also need to give the service centre your car plate number when you get the key card, or you’ll have to walk back and ring again. The room was spacious, the waterfront setting was beautiful, and the included breakfast was really good. The service team looked after us warmly over all four mornings, and a few good restaurants just two minutes away made dinner memorable. I’d recommend checking in before 5 pm if you can. Arriving late made it stressful for us.

We only stayed one night, although we’d booked four, mainly because of the noise, and the hotel refused to refund us. Workers were making a horrible racket on our terrace, banging against our room’s terrace door for ages and keeping us from resting. The shower was broken and nearly flooded the bathroom. Breakfast was another problem: the room was extremely cold, there was no buffet, and you had to order from a very limited menu. The portions were ridiculously small. You also had to choose your breakfast time at least a day ahead because there were several shifts, which felt really inconvenient and inflexible. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The whole stay was unpleasant, the worst ever.

The harbor location is a real plus, and the surrounding scenery is beautiful. I had a mixed weekend at Roompot Marinapark Volendam. The little house was clean, but the dishwasher was full and hadn’t been cleaned properly, so I had to wash the dishes by hand. There was also a mix-up over the travel cot. It wasn’t provided because I’d said I didn’t need bed sheets. The rest of the stay went smoothly. The pool is small but pleasantly quiet, though it felt a bit odd having to go through the breakfast area to reach the changing rooms. Arriving late Friday was easy, since the keycard came by post and I could get into the accommodation while reception was closed. If you plan to eat at a restaurant, book ahead, as options are limited and fill up fast. It’s a nice place to stay, especially if you’re visiting Amsterdam, and despite the few issues, I had a good experience.
