The staff were incredibly attentive and went beyond what I expected. The high tea was the best I've ever had: first a very good bowl of tomato soup, then a sweet and savory tower, and finally a selection of hot dishes. Everything tasted amazing and gave us a nice sample of the hotel's menu. There was also a varied choice of teas.

Breakfast didn't offer many choices, but what was there tasted good, and the room was clean. I stayed on the ground floor, right facing the car park. The glass was transparent, which felt a bit odd for my wife and me. Otherwise, the stay was good.

The restaurant was a pleasant surprise, with good choices for lunch and dinner, though breakfast was a little average. The location is good, and the rooms and facilities are of reasonable quality. There's a large car park, including disabled parking.

The town's other places were closed on Tuesday, so we ended up eating here, and were glad we did. It was fairly busy, but everyone made us feel welcome, especially the young waiter. The food and service were fantastic.

The Angus beef burgers were delicious, and so was the Tournedos. The vegetables were tasteless, but who cares when you've got a great piece of meat? We came for a work stay in winter, when everything was closed, and still had a good time. The room was a bit cold, and the blankets felt like summer ones. The people working here were really friendly and helpful, and arranged whatever we needed without any fuss. We've had more trouble at big fancy hotels. Extras weren't an issue either, and I think the chef is easygoing about what you ask for. I also noticed some nice decorative spots.
