The guide was great, and the place has an interesting history.

The marked trails around here make for great hiking. I found route suggestions with DNT’s UT app. Vågsfjellet also has fantastic views, though the paths have plenty of soft, marshy spots. I picked about 50 soft parts out of my calves and knees afterward, and even four days later I was still pulling out the ones that had stuck. Down by the quay there’s a grocery store and an inn, and there’s a deer farm 4 km away. We had a wonderful stay in a charming historic house. The host was so pleasant and did everything they could to make sure we enjoyed ourselves 😊. The beds and bedding were good. The second floor has low ceilings, so I had to walk hunched over there. The bathroom and toilet are shared. I highly recommend a visit.
