The horses were lovely, gentle and well cared for, whether you go for a carriage ride or trail ride. Kvebergsøya also has a lot of returning guests, so book well ahead, especially for summer or weekends. Hosts Eris and Martin welcome you into their beautifully restored family home, with rooms and cabins available and hearty traditional home-cooked meals. The downstairs of the main farmhouse dates to the mid 1700s and has been restored beautifully, with lots to look around at. Such a special place to visit.

The hospitality was incredible, and after dinner they took us around the farm. We only came for the meal, which was excellent, though the rooms looked very nice as well. It’s an amazing old farm, possibly the oldest in Folldal.

Set in a Norwegian forest, this heritage farm feels magical. You can ride or drive Fford horses and try plenty of other outdoor activities. The accommodation is comfortable and the traditional food is great. Definitely a place for the bucket list.

The carriage ride was beautiful, with a picnic and spectacular mountain views. I liked the rooms too, and the horses were friendly and funny. The farm is historic and authentic, with lovely surroundings, excellent food and good comfort for a place dating from the 16th century. It’s been renovated very nicely. Take your time here and enjoy the meals and horse activities.

A quaint, pleasant place with polite hosts and a good atmosphere. Dinner was good too. If you want somewhere out of the ordinary to stay, I’d recommend it.
